Becoming dj ?

Hello i just arrived to the United States, I am going to stay here two years for studies

One ask me to be dj for its bar because he heard my sounds on my ipod the problem is that I have only a laptop the last one macbook pro 2.4ghz 15inches

I am not dj but I would like to learn just to plays music without breaks indeed, but without using scratches or sound effects. Because I am too much afraid of platinums(decks) I do not know the software which is necessary. And I do not know if I need other materiel , i bet the jack exit sound will not be enough

All my sounds are mp3 best qualities 320kbps

There%26#39;s a lot of software out that will allow you to mix from your laptop without the need for turntables or a mixer. Numark Cue, M-Audio Torq, and Traktor Scratch allow to to auto-cue songs with just a click of the button, and Torq and Traktor can open playlists from iTunes, so you can play whole mixes you%26#39;ve already created. They%26#39;re pretty stable, and can get pretty advanced, if you ever want to start using effects, or scratching.

A trial version of Numark Cue can be downloaded from their website at the link below. If you choose to purchase, be sure and ask if it%26#39;s the newer, Mac-compatible version -- the first release was only good with Windows.

You can also look into iPod mixers -- Numark has the D2 (pronounced d-squared), a 19-inch dual CD players that will mix two songs from one iPod. Later this month they will release the IDJ2, which also allows you to mix two songs off one iPod, but in a more traditional battle-style mixer.
