Best guitar to buy under 500$?

help

Answers:

I%26#39;ve played, gigged, and horsetraded on the side for a few years now, so here goes-

I%26#39;d go to guitar center(or whatever your local music supermarket%26#39;s named) with a friend who plays, and test drive some guitars. Do an A/B comparison- play the same music on the same amp with each guitar and see what you think, and get some input from your friend. A few hints- once you have your mind made up, go into the store on the last day of the month- the sales crew is looking to lock up their commissions for the month, and if you can point out a small ding or scratch in a floor model, that can be good for a 10%, maybe even 20% discount off the tag. Also, hold out for a free setup before you start talking discount-any decent store should include it with the price, and they should offer either a 14-day or 30-day period where you can bring the guitar back for adjustments to the action or intonation. If they don%26#39;t, find a store that will.

I%26#39;m saying this-and not making specific recommendations- because in your price range, there are a lot of options, depending upon what music you play and your playing style. If it doesn%26#39;t feel good in your hands and it doesn%26#39;t sound good to your ears, it probably won%26#39;t be down the road.

On second thought, I will make a recommendation- I%26#39;ve had a Seagull M6 Spruce for about two years now- I paid just under $500 with the TRIC case-I put some phosphor bronze light gauge strings(Google "Euphonon Strings", I%26#39;ve been buying strings from them for about four years now, about $2-$2.50 per set in quantity.)and "Hot Rod" bridge pins-very bright, trebly sound-Good Luck! What do you want? Electric? Acoustic? Electric Acoustic? Banjo?
