Can a ipod shuffle play itunes songs only?

Hello my brother recently won an ipod shuffle and we were wondering can we put songs from cds and sync them to the ipod shuffle!

yes! You can put songs from, itunes, cds, limewire, anywhere you want to. yes you can put songs from Cd%26#39;s and if you dont want to use itunes store which i dont its to expensive use live wire its only a dollar a month for unlimited songs!!
