Can a virus get onto my iPod?

my computer kinda acts like it has a virus bcuz it runs slow and we have ads pop up wether we are online or not and it freezez up alot. i plugged in my iPod the other day and later when i used it it acted funny. i wanted to go to music so i scrolled to it and i pushed the center/select button 1 time and it didnt do anything. so i pushed it again and it worked. and for that day and the next few days it did that and i always had to push the button 2 times. it had never done that b4. so could a virus have gotten on it? i havent had n e other problems and now it is working fine. so can a virus get onto an iPod?

Answers:

The iPod is essentially a hard drive so it is very likely. Do you use Limewire? A lot of times music from there has embedded viruses. not a virus. just a technical issue. You can if you download files from places like limewire or other "questionable" reputation.

These files can carry viruses in then and the ipod has a hard drive like a computer.

Apple themselves are aware of this.

Apple Computer Inc. has warned Windows users that a number of its latest video iPods have a virus.

And this is from their itune store - Not a freeware site.
